DESERT ABILITY CENTER believes cyclists with disabilities belong in their community alongside their able-body friends, family, peers and other riders who live with disabilities. To this end DAC has participated in two of Coachella Valley’s most illustrious rides – the Tour de Palm Springs and the Patriot Ride For Our Heroes.
DESERT ABILITY CENTER owes so much to the Tour de Palm Springs for supporting our efforts to increase the number of paracyclists who participate in community rides. With our first four amputee riders (Thank you Amputee Connection of Redlands and Pops Carter) in 2010 we have grown to more than 100 riders with disabilities.
When you ride in the Tour and select Desert Ability Center as your nonprofit of choice, you are supporting our riders and the purchase of adaptive cycles. Watch for our nonprofit code each season when registration opens.

As if the Tour de Palm Springs were not enough, CVSPIN added another ride for our favorite population – Veterans, and aren’t we glad they did.
Through the Veterans Administration Adaptive Sports Grant 2016 we were able to support 20 veterans with disabilities in the Patriot Ride. In 2017 we expect to sponsor 30. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are a veteran with a disability and would like to ride in this event.
