The key to the success of the Desert Ability Center are the programs and services that we have created for our community members who live with disabilities and the community agencies with whom we partner.
WHEELCHAIR TENNIS is offered weekly from November to May of each year at the Marriott Desert Springs, Palm Desert.
THE CYCLE CREW, a paracycling program for cyclists with physical disabilities, is conducted two times per month. Paracycles are provided by DAC. Clinic is free of charge. Check our calendar for times and location.
DESERT AMP CREW, a monthly resource meeting for children and adults living with limb loss and limb deficiencies. Desert Amp Crew is conducted on the 3rd Wednesday of each from from 5:30-7:30 pm at Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital in Ranch Mirage.
OPERATION ABILITY Adaptive Sports and Leadership Training for veterans with disabilities provides adaptive cycles to veterans with disabilities in collaboration with American Legion Riders and Desert Riders Association.
The ABILITY FESTIVAL, established in 2012, is a one of a kind FREE event for people of all ages with any level of ability to introduce them to adaptive sports and raise awareness of adaptive sports and abilities of people with disabilities. The Ability Festival brings to the desert Paralympians and medal winning adaptive sports coaches to provide instruction in such sports as rowing, golf, beep baseball, WCMX, power soccer and more.
The 8th Annual Ability Festival will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park.
CAMP NO LIMITS. DAC supports sending our children who live with limb loss to Camp No Limits each year. This fantastic camp is right in our back door in Big Bear, CA. Please consider donating to support their attendance.
COMMUNITY RIDES. Desert Ability Center believes people who live with disabilities belong in the community alongside their friends, family and peers. For this reason we have been riding in the Tour de Palm Springs since 2010. We support our veterans with disabilities by riding in the Patriot Ride for Our Heroes.
